Review of Sydney Health Partners’ Clinical Streams and Cross-Cutting Themes
Client: Sydney Health Partners
Project duration: 4 months
Sydney Health Partners (SHP) is an Advanced Health Research and Translation Centre with local health districts, a hospital network, the University of Sydney and medical research institutes as partners.
ZEST Health Strategies was engaged to complete a review of the structure, composition and function of SHP’s eight clinical streams and five cross-cutting theme groups to inform the future organisation of, and strategic planning for, SHP. Evaluation of translational research is an emerging and dynamic area in the field of evaluation.
This review was conducted in partnership with SHP and consisted of a:
• Rapid evidence review of the work of translational research centres in both Australia and internationally
• Online member survey sent to 425 members
• Senior stakeholder sense-making workshop for executive and senior-level leaders from among SHP’s partners to explore their views (using online, interactive workshop software), present preliminary findings and identify potential recommendations.
ZEST wrote a report on the findings and recommendations for strengthening the structure and function of the SHP and then presented it to the SHP Board.
